Chief Architect Mattapoisett, MA
In this role, you will work in a team environment developing Watch Captain's ERP technology strategy and providing a technology vision aligned to changing business priorities through thought leadership, processes, structure and value delivery. The successful candidate will understand the needs of the business in the short-, medium- and long-term and is able to define an architectural roadmap for overall development, while aligning the roadmap with business needs and fostering innovation by creating forums for strategic thought.
Responsibilities:- Develop the Technology strategy and vision to support key business processes and needs by determining the optimal IT architecture, level of investment in tools and technologies.
- Measure the business impact of architecture with business and technical metrics and assess the current state of maturity of the architecture.
- Establish Development Methodology Standards and publish the lifecycle methodology that spans defining business applications to design, develop, deploy, support and upgrade underlying technology and applications.
- Develop architectural standards.
- Define technology lifecycle.
- Drive definition of the information/data architecture to help measure the business performance across geographies and business units.
- Integrate Architecture between legacy systems and new technologies.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of increasing responsibility in software development, architectural vision and strategy.
- BS/MS in Computer Science preferred.
- Experience as a Chief Architect on inception-to-delivery of enterprise Service Oriented Architectures (SOA).
- Deep technical knowledge of current technologies such as J2EE, .NET, Open Source, Messaging infrastructures, Databases (MS SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, DB2) and OOAD/OOP/UML.
- Ability to define an N-tier application and understand how it fits into the overall system architecture. Expertise and experience in lightweight, rapid development, agile methodologies.
- Proven leadership skills including: people growth, mentoring, team building, collaboration and conflict resolution; must be able to inspire and mentor developers at varying levels using excellent written/verbal communication.
- Strong business knowledge to grasp the needs of the business in the short-, medium- and long-term and is able to define an architectural roadmap for development.
- Strong communication between technical and business teams.
- Ability to serve as evangelist of architectural vision, strategy, and principles creating enterprise frameworks that allow other architects, developers and IT professionals to work in sync.
- Experience with interaction of legacy systems and phased application integration.
- Project and program management planning and organization skills.
- Exemplary general IT knowledge (applications development, testing, deployment, operations, documentation, standards, best practices, security, hardware, networking, OS, DBMS, middleware, etc.)
- Knowledge of IT governance and operations.
